Half-up Half-down Fishtail braid
Hi everyone, it has been a while but I decided to start uploading again starting with this classic half-up-half-down style.
This is a simple style that can be dressed up or down and can be made as difficult or easy to suit each individual. I hope you enjoy this hairstyle, comeback soon for another one. Thanks!
Difficulty: Easy - Medium
Tools:
- 1-2 hair elastic(s)/ hair tie(s)
Method:
1. Gather a section of hair at the crown of the head, including the hair at the middle front of the head but leaving a couple of inches on each side. (You can opt to add an elastic at this point to make the following steps easier)
2. Separate this section of hair into 2 equal parts (Right and Left).
3. Pick up a chunk* of hair from the right side of the head. Cross the hair over and add it to the Left section created in step 2.
4. Pick up a chunk* of hair from the left side of the head. Cross the hair over and add it to the Right section created in step 2.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 for 2-5 more times until all hair you want to be "up" is included.
6. Without adding any more hair, pick up a chunk* of hair from the right side of the head. Cross the hair over and add it to the Left section.
7. Without adding any more hair, pick up a chunk* of hair from the left side of the head. Cross the hair over and add it to the Right section.
*These chunks can be as large or small as you'd like. Bigger chunks then to be more messy and look more like a regular 3-strand braid while smaller chunks then to be more intricate and look more like a fishtail rather than a braid.
8. Repeat step 6 and 7 until you run out of hair.
9. Secure with a hair tie.
10. Release the elastic used in step 1 if applicable.
And your hairstyle is complete. Happy Hairstyling!
