Messy Bun
Messy buns are common and generally easy to accomplish as the hairstyle is supposed to be messy. There are many ways to create a messy bun, however, this is the method I use and find that it produces the messiest and yet aesthetically pleasing bun. To dress it up, you can add a bow (as shown above) or a similar accessory.
Difficulty: Easy
Tools:
- 1 comb/brush
- 1 - 2 hair elastic(s)/ hair tie(s)
- 5 - 8 bobby pins
Method:
1.Gather all the hair into a ponytail and secure it with a hair tie.
2. However, do not pull the hair fully through at the last loop.
3. Twist the messy half ponytail around until the hair sort of flops down in a messy manner.
4. Separate the messy ponytail and secure the different sections to the head with bobby pins. Be as creative and messy as you like. If some pieces fall out, simply tuck them under the bun and pin into place.
5. [Optional] Add a fun accessory to give the bun a fancier look.
