Inverted french braid - Dutch braid (with origami)
The Dutch Braid is a classic hairstyle that has been worn by many over the years. So, to spice things up, I added some origami cranes to the hairstyle that can be worn during events such as crazy hair day or international day. You can learn how to make these origami cranes on the past titled "Origami Cranes" over in the Crafts section.
Difficulty: Easy (Hairstyle only)
Tools:
- 1 comb/brush
- 1 hair elastic/ hair tie
- 3 - 8 Origami Cranes
- 3 - 8 bobby pins (depending on the number of origami cranes added to the hairstyle)
Method:
1. Pick up some hair at the crown of the head, gathering all the hair from the hairline.
2. Separate the hair into 3 sections.
3. Cross the left strand over the middle strand. Then, cross the right strand over the new middle strand.
4. Pick up a chunk of hair hair from the left side of the head and add it to the new left strand. Cross the entire section under the middle strand.
5. Repeat step 4 but with the right strand and hair from the right side of the head.
6. Keep repeating steps 4 and 5 until you reach the nape of the neck and run out of hair to add in.
7. Continue the braid like a 3- strand braid. You can also choose to stop braiding at this point.
8. When the braid is complete, secure the ends of the hair with an elastic.
Stop here if you only want to wear the french braid (without the origami cranes.).
9. Add the Origami Cranes wherever you like. *Tip: Weave the wings of the crane through the bumps of the braid.
10. Secure the cranes with bobby pins.
And your hairstyle is complete. Happy Hairstyling!
